About this record

As of the end of 2025 the average power usage effectiveness (PUE) of China's very large compute facilities had fallen to 1.34. PUE is total facility energy divided by IT equipment energy — closer to 1 is more efficient. Note the scope: 1.34 is the average for very large facilities, not for all data centres (smaller sites typically run higher). Reuse this work

Text, figures and structured data on this page are free to reuse (including commercially), under two conditions:

  1. Attribution: credit "Source: Trustbase Lab" and keep a link to https://trustbaselab.com/en/record/tbm-152/;
  2. Keep the identifiers: when citing a single fact, keep the record ID, as_of and confidence grade — they are the carriers of verifiability. Remove them and the citation loses its point.

Figures are generated at build time as inline SVG from our own data (data.json) — no external chart services, reproducible offline. Upstream third-party sources (UN Comtrade, EU official journals, ISO, WHO and others) remain the property of their respective rights holders; this page cites them factually and attributes them.
